A fantastic day for a wedding in the beautiful Sunshine Coast Hinterland at Tiffanys of Maleny.  The amazing views and the spectacular chapel at Tiffanys is a wedding photographers dream.

Maaike and Dominic’s day was filled with close friends and family and of course the wedding owl.  Here is a sneak peak of Dominic and Maaikes wedding day.

VENUE: Mulanah Gardens, Kingaroy | PHOTOGRAPHER: AWPP Studio – Jason

“it won’t rain!”.  With the rain drizzling over the stunning Mulanah Gardens B&B Cottages Kingaroy, Kym was certain it was NOT going to rain on her day.  As the car pulled up with Kym and her family, the groom, groomsmen and guests were snug and dry undercover at Mulanah Gardens and as if it was meant to me (and maybe a few tears here and there) the rain stopped and the owners Lindsay & Rhonda (and some help from the boys) raced into action setting up the entire ceremony outside to take in the stunning gardens and views.

After a beautiful ceremony, we headed out to a private property for some amazing portraits, some nibbles and maybe a drink or two.

The reception was in the set under a huge marquee, where all of the action and fun begun, including a power point presentation of some of Kyms school day antics which left the crowd in stitches. As the night went on, there was much dancing, laughter and love (and of course the ever popular pants down eagle rock).

The weather in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland on Louise & Paul’s wedding day was unforgiving.  Flaxton Gardens wedding venue was amongst the clouds with driving rain and a heavy mist.  This didn’t dampen the spirits though of the Bride, Groom, Bridal Party and their guests.

 After they entered the exceptional Barrel Room of Flaxton Gardens, we set up our unique take on a Photo Booth with loads of props and way too much fun.

The guests queued up all night with hilarious combinations or just to have a Studio quality couple portrait.  Paul and Louise threw themselves into the fun even attempting (and FINALLY succeeding) in a human pyramid.

Kate shone and Craig looked smitten when they married last weekend at the beautiful Flaxton Gardens Winery in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. After their ceremony, we headed out to Maleny for some bridal party photos overlooking the Glasshouse Mountains.  Just on sunset the sky turned to most magical shades of pink and then the full moon popped up from the horizon.  I have to say, it was pretty spectacular and as we made out way back to Flaxton Gardens along Balmoral Ridge, Jase and I knew we had to get a photo for these two in the moonlight.  Kate and Craig were up for the challenge and between entrees and mains, took the time to sneak outside into the darkness with us to capture this….

It’s unfair to say that this is even a ‘sneak peek’ at Brooke & Julio’s Maleny Manor wedding in the spectacular Sunshine Coast Hinterland yesterday.  It’s actually a sneak peek of Brooke.  As I’m downloading all of the images from last night I’m having great difficulty choosing ‘only the best’ – there are so many great memories from their day!  Laughter, tears, plenty of raw emotion, fun, excitement, pride…

The bridal party looked amazing! But what I loved most about the day was that despite the beautiful dress, perfectly primped hair and absolute ‘immaculation’ (I made that word up just to describe Brooke!) the cowboy boots hidden under the layers told the story of a bride that was not afraid to have fun on her wedding day! (much to Julio’s distress I’m searching for an ‘elegant’ photo now of Brooke ‘hauling’ her beautiful wedding dress over a fence for a ‘cow’ photo! Stay tuned!  In the meantime here is one of her looking somewhat angelic…

I’ve been going through archiving some of last year’s weddings.  It’s always bitter sweet to be putting these behind us as ‘work completed’.  We always have such a fantastic time at all of the weddings we have the privilege taking part in.  And we hope that some day down the track, we might be asked to immortalise other important moments in lives – you know, babies and other special occasions of their family and friends. To bump into them again and see how they’re travelling.

I loved Renee & Luke’s wedding.  It seemed full of freshness & light and I can feel it when I look back at their photos.  This is not a usual post.  It’s a collection of many of the pages straight out of the album that they created with us.  Too beautiful not to share before storing them away for safe keeping.

Recently we had the absolute pleasure of meeting Kirstie & Lachy.  We’re excited to be capturing their wedding day for them in April next year!  April 2013 seems so far away but in reality, it will be here before we know it.  We couldn’t wait that long to snap some pics of these two and they were keen for an engagement shoot – perfect! We headed off to one of the nearby country lanes with a collection of eclectic backdrops just a hop, skip & jump apart.

We’re so lucky to live locally in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, with such a great variety of photo locations right on our doorstep. Kirstie & Lachy, we hope you like the few of our favourites from that beautiful sunny day…

VENUE: Wantima Country Club Brisbane | PHOTOGRAPHERS: AWPP Studio – Jason & Georgia

What a perfect Autumn wedding at Wantima Country Club in the North of Brisbane with Wendy & Grant, actually you would be forgiven for thinking it was a hot summers day.  With a stunning backdrop of the Golf Club and a great location at Warner Lakes nearby, both Georgia and I had so much fun with Wendy & Grant and some close friends and family.

After the ceremony and the group shots on the lush green backdrop of the Country Club, we decided to head directly to Warner Lakes nearby for some shade, wine & Cheese and of course some photo’s.  Just before we arrived at our location (and a wrong turn here and there – and a big thanks for our official navigator Georgia) we noticed a industrial wall covered in bright colourful graffiti, where Georgia and I immediately thought, we need to come back this way.

On arriving at Warner Lakes, we managed to get some stunning bridal party portraits just before the champagne, wine and cheese was served.  A huge thank you to Deanne and her mum for all of their efforts in making the day relaxed for Wendy and Grant.  We proceeded to find another great location at Warner Lakes before heading back to the graffiti wall for some great groom & groomsmen portraits.

Once we returned to the Golf Course, (much cooler) and after the all important family and friends portraits, we tried our luck in the golf carts, driving to some of the stunning and unique locations on the golf course including the historical Bake House.

The reception was held at Wantima Country Club with a huge Buffet dinner waiting for the Wendy & Grant’s return.

LITTLE COVE NOOSA & HEADLANDS

On the 28th of this month Nicola and I will be spending the day with Toni & Adam for their wedding!  I’m excited – why? Because I love weddings and I love Noosa, Toni & Adam are the loveliest couple AND – if they look this great in their engagement photos then their wedding pics are going to be awesome!  A couple of weeks ago we headed down to test out some locations for their wedding day and caught a few engagement snaps along the way.  As usual, I’ve had trouble picking my favourites for the blog but have managed to narrow it down to just a few teasers for them.

Toni & Adam, thanks for choosing us to capture your wedding day for you!  We can’t wait!

Choosing your wedding providers…

Your makeup artist, hairdresser, celebrant & of course photographers are 4 of the wedding service professionals that will get to know you most intimately on your wedding day.  You’ll meet with them at least a few times before the big day. They’re the ones that will spend the most time with you one on one & for this reason it is SO important that you feel comfortable with them.  Yesterday we worked again with Charmaine & Lauren of Powder Me Makeup Studio We work together so often & I love their work!  It’s lovely turning up to photograph the girls and everyone knowing one another!  There’s a real sense of fun that is added to an already perfect day. Oh and I had SO much fun with my new Canon 5D3 and 50mm 1.2 lens yesterday – can’t wait to show Maaike & Dominic the photos! Here’s one of them…
